I still don't understand why Heath Ledger had to die so young! I loved "Brokeback Mountain", such a moving love story! This illo is not a portrait of him, it is just an old image I've found in one of my sketchbooks.

I am not a fan of circus... but I have a fascination for tamers and lions. Plus, I am very into patterns lately, so I thought it would be a good idea to use this theme to try some new effects. But, by the time I had to decide what was in and what was out... this illo just didn't make it.

Não sou muito fã de circo... mas tenho fascinação por domadores e leões. Além disso, ando numa fase de padronagens e texturas, então achei que seria uma boa idéia aproveitar este tema para tentar novos efeitos. Mas na hora de decidir o que fica e o que sai... esta ilustração simplesmente não me convenceu.

Christmas Luau Party / Festa Luau de Natal

Every year some of my friends gather to celebrate Christmas with a costume party. It has been a tradition for almost 12 years. Last year's theme was "Hollywood": the movies, the iconic actors and all. I was Holly Golightly from "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and my husband was Darth Vader from "Star Wars", just to give you a little notion of the commitment we have to make the event as glamourous as possible. This year we decided to go for something more tropical, more tanned, more summer... A Hawaiian Luau. As always, I was concerned of what kind of party favors I would give to the guests, and after a lot of researching I decided to draw a "logo" for the party as well as some "to/from" stickers with the theme. I had a lot of fun doing it and everybody liked, so here is the page where it all started. Hope you'll enjoy it.

Todo ano um grupo de amigos meus se reune para comemorar o natal com uma festa a fantasia. No ano passado o tema foi "Hollywood": os filmes, atores famosos e por aí vai. Eu fui de Bonequinha de Luxo e meu marido de Darth Vader, isso só para vcs terem uma noção do quanto a gente se empenha para fazer a festa o mais glamourosa possível. Este ano decidimos optar por algo mais tropical, mais bronzeado, mais verão... Um luau Havaiano. Como sempre, já comecei a me preocupar com o que daria de lembrancinha aos convidados e, depois de muita pesquisa, acabei decidindo criar um "logo" para a festa e fazer também algumas etiquetinhas "de/para" com o tema. Foi super divertido fazer e todo mundo gostou, então aqui está a página onde a idéia começou. Espero que gostem.

This is something I did while waiting for a business meeting. That gorgeous little doll on the top left is a drawing from an unknown illustrator (at least for me) that I carry with me for almost two years now, and I really would like to know who did it... I think she is gracefull, gorgeous and the style is so unique! Also at the left page a look from Donna Karan's last show I saw in a magazine that drove me absolutelly crazy! Since I probably won't be able to buy it, at least I will draw it in some of my fancy, rich and stylish gals soon. On the right page, two notes: my aunt's birthday on the top and my husband's niece birthday party on the bottom. In the middle, a astonishing necklace from "Lucy in the Sky" that I should buy immediately, for my birthday is coming and I really need some consolation!

Isso aí são uns desenhos que fiz enquanto esperava por uma reunião de trabalho. Aquela bonequinha linda no topo da página esquerda é de um ilustrador(a) que eu não sei quem é, mas adoraria saber, porque carrego esse recorte comigo há uns dois anos. Ela é tão graciosa e o estilo é tão fantástico, eu realmente adoraria saber quem fez. Também na página esquerda um look do último desfile da Donna Karan que, além de ser a minha cara, me deixou babando. Como eu provavelmente não vou comprá-lo, pelo menos vou vestir numa das minhas personagens ricas, chiques e estilosas. Na página da direita, dois lembretes: o aniversário da minha tia (acima) e a festinha da sobrinha do meu marido (abaixo). No meio, um colar maravilhoso da "Lucy in the Sky" que eu deveria comprar imediatamente, pois meu aniversário está chegando e eu vou precisar de muito apoio moral!

I've been overloaded, working 24/7 and too tired to take care of the posts. I am sorry! As soon as all this craziness stops, I'll be posting on regular basis again.

Back from the dark ages! Voltando da era das trevas!

I am back! I had so many problems with Blogspot that I almost quit being a blogger! Thanfully, it all went away the same way it came: misteriously... That's the fascinating world of internet and computers, I suppose. And to celebrate me being back to my daily sketches, here is one that I truly love: this weird-hair-guy. I love him so much that I had decided long ago that I would not post it here... but hey, I am celebrating now, so everything goes!

It is good to be back, my dear blogger friends.

Estou de volta! Tive tantos problemas com o Blogspot que quase desisti da minha vida de blogueira. Ainda bem que tudo desapareceu do mesmo jeito que apareceu: misteriosamente... Esse é o fascinante mundo da internet e dos computadores, eu acho. E para celebrar minha volta aos rabiscos diários, aqui está um desenho que eu realmente amo: esse cara do cabelo esquisito. Gosto tanto dele que havia decidido não postá-lo... mas estou comemorando, então vale tudo!
