Illustration Friday - Run

This week's topic really got me! I just couldn't find some good idea and was almost giving up when I remembered this illo.
It was originally named "Band on the run", but after I did the final version, it became "I'm with the band" as you can see in this "before and after" post!
You can see more drawings of this series about music at my website.

Feeling pollyannaish

Let's have a nice week, shall we? Let's begin with some good music, whatever kind of music you like. Let's go ouside and see beautiful things, like Dior leather bags, roses, old buildings and puppies. Let's eat well, like lots of chocolat, raisins and popcorn. Let's pray for world peace but also for a nice boyfriend to our next door neighbour who has been dumped twice this year. Let's dance, shall we? Let's walk. Let's talk. Let's play checkers, or chest, or pocker. Let's work with joy, let's kiss and tell, let's go!

Illustration Friday - Match #2

I have a rule: never to post twice for a same subject of Illustration Friday, but something happened and made me change my mind. Today I was walking my dog (Souflè, a french bulldog) on the street and an old lady stopped me to talk(that kind of dog's owner chat, if you know what I mean). After complimmenting me about his beauty and nice manners she said: "Look how he matches your clothes!". I haven't noticed yet, but she was right. We were really a perfect match: the dog is all white with a black mascara, some dots and stripes; and I was wearing a black and white Adidas jacket and big sunglasses, black too. With such a coincidence I've decided to make an exception and post again. Hope you don't mind.

To Master, With Love

I was signed to do a very challenging job for a magazine: a HQ. I've never (and I am using the word never here, OK?) read or liked HQ, not even when I was a child or teenager. No Mickey, no TinTin, no nothing. But when I turned 18 and was able to explore sexuality without blushing, I discovered the world of adult's HQ. I am not saying that I read it (I still find it too boring), but I spent many hours looking at the drawings and trying to learn from them. Anyway, now that I am a little bit scared with this new challenge, I decided to my my "homework" first and go back to the masters, seeking for help. So, here is tribute to one my favourites: Guido Crepax and his wild Valentina. I hope you enjoy it.

Illustration Friday - Play

Illustration Friday's theme this week is play. So... "hey, Miss DJ, put a record on. I wanna dance with my babe!"

Thanks to everybody who came here through Willie's Blog. And thank you, Willie, for making this day a real bliss!

Face Hunter - The End

I have to stop drawings those faces from Face Hunter. Seriously, it has become an addiction to me! It is so relaxing that I could do it for hours and never get tired or bored. And it is also an excellente exercise: my men (ooops!) the men I am drawing nowadays are not looking like unmounted drag queens anymore. I am proud of my accomplishment. Now I just have to let go my prejudice about children not being a good subject and start drawing kids. Well... maybe that's a lot to ask for now.

Illustration Friday - Capture

I love the blog "Face Hunter". It is all about a guy that walks the streets and parties of Paris looking for faces. He finds people of all kind and captures their unique expressions in a single picture.
That's fantastic. I am already addicted to it.
So I've decided to do a face capture from "Face Hunter".
I hope you'll enjoy.
