Illustration Friday - Sacrifice

Well, I am going to post twice for Illustration Friday because my first submission was for the "Aging" theme, and now it has changed to "Sacrifice".
My first thought was about Frida Kahlo. Who could be more perfect to embody the word Sacrifice than her? She accepted the sacrifices of pain, mutilation and betrayal with such grace that makes me wonder... where was the source of all that strenght?

  3. Well I didn't know much about her so I went and read her stunning bio on wikipedia. what an amazing person she must have been. The photos of her are so much more conventionally beautiful than she ever painted herself too -

anyway its a beautiful drawing. so was aging - I see you got caught by the mistake this morning.

  12. Wow, you whipped another drawing out so quickly! And it's wonderful. I always was fascinated by Frida's life and circumstances. Her art is how she survived her pain. Excellent work!
